ShiningBeads began with beads, but it does not stop there. We write about earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, hair pieces, old jewels and the question that starts many outfit decisions: what should I wear with this?
What you will find here
Some stories are practical: jewellery for a blue dress, earrings that work at the office, or the bead size that will not overwhelm a small bracelet. Others are simply fascinating. A royal brooch can carry a family argument, a political message and a remarkable stone all at once.
We like photographs, useful detail and advice that leaves room for taste. There will be no rule saying everyone needs the same five pieces.
How we work
Articles are planned around a real question and illustrated for the story, not padded to reach a word count. Historical pieces will name their sources. Practical guides will say when something is a matter of judgement, not a settled fact.
